The collection contains an account book of the bank from 1886 to 1897, spanning the partnership of Charles F. Goodwin and John C. Shirk. In 1907 the bank was sued by the state for back taxes. During the trial Shirk testified that when the bank reorganized in 1905, he burned the old records in the bank's furnace. This volume, however, escaped the furnace.
